Brief description of the livelihood:

LGU of Bindoy and other government and non-government organizations recognize BFA as an alliance of fishers’ in Bindoy with clear agenda on promoting sustainable fishing practices and supporting coastal and marine reserve conservation. LGU Bindoy and BFA signed a Memorandum of Agreement in year 2018 which states that “the LGU recognizes the need to promote food security by increasing food supply through accelerated fishing technology and training of coastal fisherfolks as direct participants in the proper management of marine water resources” and it implements a program on Bagsakan Fish Center designed to have continuous supply of Cool, Clean and Care (C3) fresh fish in the local market”. It further states that “the LGU identifies BFA to operate Bagsakan Center to uplift socio-economic conditions of coastal fisherfolks”.  The existing MOA puts BFA in a better position to establish BDFE that will raise resources to expand advocacy to other towns and to complement finances provided by support organizations
